Aaliyah Dana Houghton

Shortly after the release of her third and promising album, Singer/Actress Aaliyah was killed in a plane crash immediatly after deploying from a airport in the Bahamas headed for Opa-Locka Miami, Florida. Aaliyah and her crew had just finished filming her video for her second single off her self titled album, "Rock the Boat".Aaliyah and seven others were killed immediatly when the small two engine Cessna 402 nose-dived into the ground only seconds after take off. The ninth Aaliyah's bodygaurd would die later that night.
Investigations show that the plane was overloaded which caused the engine to fail. According to officals in the Bahamas the pilot had told them that their was to much on the plane. the crew insisted on packing the palne even more. Regardless to what cause the accident it is most tragic and pointing the finger at whoever will not bring back to life those who were lost that dredful night.
Thousands paid tribute to the late singer at memorial services in New York.
