When he represents Philly, he reps hard. Musiq Soulchild, born Taalib Johnson is making headlines with his sophmore project, Juslisen. If you have the first album and loved it, your gonna praise this one. Musiq is a part of the new category soon to appear on all award shows, NeoSoul.In my opinion he is the king of NeoSoul. But that's just my opinion.
Musiq came from very humble beginnings. he was raised in a christian and muslim home. Musiq stated as a youngster he found himself in a little trouble. After a while he began to drink and use drugs . He even found himself homeless. According to Musiq he slept everywhere from a friends couch to the train. It wasn't until he met his now partner in crime that things turned around. But don't think that just because things were bad that Musiq jumped when he was offered a record deal. Nope! He actually said he had to think about it. Of course He took it and look what happened to the boy next door.
